Seven Things

I've been tagged again by the adorable Merrianne. This tag is seven things about me.

1- I like randomivity (as Mags puts it). Random things make me laugh and laugh and laugh. Napoleon Dynamite, for example. Loved that movie! The random scene breaks. The sudden dancing on stage. Things that make you say, WHAT THE CRAP WAS THAT!? Ya. Those are my favorite.

2- I think cold-sores suck big, fat, moss-covered rocks. I've only had a few in my life... I think four or maybe five, but they bite the BIG ONE. I have one right now (a HUGE one) that's on it's way out. On Saturday I had TWO, yes, TWO people glance at me and say... nevermind... I just have to tell the stories.
Story#1 My cousin, Blake, came in my mom's house and said (as I turned around from a mixing bowl with a spatula in my hand), "Enjoyin' that chocolate, are you?" (I was making cream-cheese frosting which is WHITE, mind you!) I replied, "Huh? Oh... you mean my COLD SORE?" He thought I had some sort of chocolate cake batter or brownie mix on my face.
Story#2 Not two hours after the occurrence of story #1, my sister Lacy looked up at me at the dinner table and said, as she unconsciously wiped at her lip, "Clance, ya got some food on your face." I responded, "You mean, my COLD SORE?"
Both of them were very abashed, but I just thought to myself, "That will be a sweet blog entry!"

3- My hands get freakin' freezing when I sit at the computer. So, now, every time you read a blog entry, know that I sacrificed to write it. ;) lol!

4- I use these "..." in excess. Look through my blog posts. I bet there's ...'s in almost every one. I love to use them. I use way more than appear on my posts because I'm a super-freak editor. There is always many to delete.... :)

5- I am a concerned squirrel parent. My child is reaching his adolescent weeks and I am having some behavior issues. Incessant jumping, scratching me all over my arms (as he's hugging me like a tree and shimmying up my limbs), sneaking out of his box after curfew, chewing on things!, peeing on my shirt... I just don't know what to do with him! (Does anyone who lives where I live have a metal cage? He can chew through overturned laundry baskets....)

6- I don't eat very well when my husband is not home. Or drink enough water. Or sleep enough (but that is true whether he's home or not).

7- If someone puts their hand flat on my back, between my shoulder blades, I can grab around their hand and squeeze it with my blades. My blades... that sounds funny. lol!

There you are. I tag Connie, Holly, Brecca, Carmy, Beth B., Emilee, Jenny, and Melissa D. I hope they're reading.

6th

I'm it. Got tagged by the adorable MERRIANNE! I don't know if it's because it's October 6th, but this tag says go to your picture folder on your computer, go to the 6th folder, and then find the 6th picture and post it on your blog! This is a little scary and I'm a little bit tempted to cheat, but I won't. Here goes....

Wow. That pretty much sucks. This was a picture that my mom took when we drove to Arizona in June. Dustin asked us to take pictures of the terrain on the way down as he's never been to Arizona. This was somewhere past Flagstaff. Thrilling, is it not?

Lucky for all of you, I happen to have two"My Pictures" files... one from pre-computer-hard-drive-dump and from one post-computer-hard-drive-dump. The above pic happens to be post-drive-dump. (I was going to say post-dump, but that just sounds bad!) Anyway, I thought I'd see what I came up with in the other "My Pictures" file.... and *yikes* here it is!

I shouldn't told you I have two "My Pictures" folders, huh. Should have stuck with the boring window shot. This is a pic that my older brother, Zandy, took of Lacy, Taylor and I Christmas 2004. He emailed it to us after and titled it "Scary Siblings". Someday, if you ask nicely, I might show you what I did with this picture in Photoshop. *shudder*

SO....
that was a fun easy tag. Thanks, Merrianne! I am guessing I need to tag six people? That's what I'll do. I tag Kristin, Micci, Jen, Britta, Leah, and Beth at the Burn Unit! And Kaci... even though that's seven. Ready, set, GO!

I'm It

Another tag... thanks Ginny and Kristin! This time the rules are as follows: (Listing them does not necessarily mean I will follow them, nor should you feel obligated if you are tagged! Ya. We're pretty much rebels...)

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write 6 random things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let the person know you tagged them on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when you've posted.

Six random things about me...

1- I am freaked out by water. Deep water. I was so scared of the deep end of the pool when I was a kid. It still bothers me somewhere deep in my unconscious mind especially the drain and the light in the pool. I also get the creeps just looking at a satellite image of a lake. And zooming in on that image... it makes me squeench cuz it's just so darned creepy. I was TERRIFIED the first time I went water skiing. Being left all alone in the deep, black lake- watching the boat drift away from me while I wrestled get the skis on and then fought to keep the stupid tips out of the water. It was AWFUL. The boat driver never told me I had to tell them to go, so I sat there floating, fighting ski tips and freaking out about what was underneath me. I kept wondering why they wouldn't go and willing them to go in my mind and then I totally wigged out. I waved them back to pick me up and didn't go at all until later on in the day after I found out that I was supposed to yell "HIT IT!" so they would go! LOL!

2- I am a freakin' awesome boxer. OK, sort of... I've only done it a couple times. When I was in college, a friend of our "household" (there were eight girls in the house I lived in!) had boxing gloves. We would occasionally have boxing nights. If you can imagine eight girls taking turns boxing each other.... it was a riot. We had a rule of no head shots. There was one of my roomies, Cathy, who was a little nuts, like me. We got the gloves on and gave eachother one look... I said "Face?" She confirmed, "Face." None of this 'body-shots only' crap for us! We got the headgear on and started swinging! We were hitting each other all over. I don't know how long it went on, but it ended with me hitting her right between the eyes and she fell like a tree. She wasn't knocked out, but she was stunned. We were all dying laughing. It was great! I won the match but paid for it the next day- Did you know that boxing makes EVERY muscle in your body sore? I didn't, but I got well schooled on the fact for about a week after our "match". One of my roommates got that little episode on video. I've always wished that I had gotten a copy of it. Ah well...

3- I used to have a job hanging drywall. It was with my dad, but he paid me and I learned a lot. I didn't work for him nearly long enough to be any good, but I was a drywall hanger for a while. :)

4- I did random things when I was in high school like walk up to perfect strangers in the mall, hug them and tell them how excited I was to see them. Then I would, with all the sincerity I could muster, tell them "Good luck on your test next week! You're going to do so awesome!!!" Then telling them how good it was to see them, I'd leave them wondering who the heck I was and who the heck I thought they were! LOL! I would also go up to random strangers and say, "HEY!!!! Tell your sister she did SO great in her play! We loved it!!!" Yes, I was a little nuts.

5- As a child, I was a wandering sleeper. I would wake up, go to the bathroom and not go back to my bed, but to the couch in the living room. I'd sleep there for a while and then get up cuz I was cold and go lay by the heater, fall asleep there and wake up later and go to "the sleeping bag place" (a weird little closet where we kept all our sleeping bags so it was all squishy and comfy). Later I'd wake up again and go to the couch in the family room. Then I'd end up back in my bed before the morning. I don't have any idea why I did this, but it's all true and definitely random!

6- I have grand intentions EVERY stinkin' year to send out Christmas cards and I've NEVER done it. I've sent out one or two here and there to Dustin's grandma (who would get very offended if she sends us one, but we don't send her one back!) and a couple of other random friends, but that's it. Last year I even went and had little wallet size pictures of my kids printed. Ya. Those pics are still sitting upstairs in a cupboard with all the cards I hand-made to send out. Nice, huh? I WILL get those cards out some year, and 2008 just might be the one! :)

There. You're all randomized by Clancy's randomness. :)

I almost forgot to tag my six people! Let's go for Kaci, because she doesn't often blog about herself and I want some random Kaciness! Let's hear it for Leah... same reason as Kaci... I want a little dirt!!! Maria, if she feels up to it... she's been quiet in the blogging world because she's up to her eyeballs in homeschooling her kids! GO MARIA!!! Carmen, because she's so charmy!!! Rachel, because I need to see what random facts come out of that girl's history!!! And last but not least, Polly because I love my cuz!

Image Tag

Britta (BBC!!!) has tagged me. I am instructed to go onto Google Images and find an image suitable for my response to each question. I laughed and laughed at Britta's responses. If you don't read her blog, you should go there RIGHT NOW and read her image tag post! LOL!

Past loves: I don't know if this is what they were looking for when they said "past loves", but the term "old flame" came to mind! These are two of my old boyfriends, and I loved them once upon a time. (and YES, I found these pictures on Google Images. LOL!)

My first name: Clancy. This is the Clancy Cottage at the Hallflat Farm Cottages in Wasdale, England. I've never been... just found it on the images. I want to go now. Doesn't it look magical. You should see the inside of the cottage... so charming.

Your middle name: Leigh. I don't know who Brennan Leigh is, but she plays the guitar and sings and that's just what I want to do! (I don't want an album like she has, but I just want to not suck at guitar like I currently do!)

Your last name: My husband has asked that I not put our last name on my blog, and I would love nothing more than to honor him and his request. Just know that this is the image I found when I plugged it in and I picked it because I have been running *except for the last week with my severe cold* and I plan to run a 5K this fall.

What are you doing right now?
Making sure my chair leg doesn't fall into the gaping hole in my floor. AKA plumbing in our basement... busted out LOTS of concrete so we can move every piece of plumbing in my house (We're not moving the location of the sinks or toilets upstairs, but we are changing the way they hook up to the main sewer). My own pictures forthcoming.... (and they're WAY cooler than that one!)

How old are you? Thirty, baby! Last Wednesday, thank you very much! Britta said she was stuck at eighteen forever. If we're talking about ages that we are "stuck" at, then I'm twenty-eight. I don't know why, but that's how I think of myself.

My favorite treat: Hmmm... this is a brand new favorite that I've only tried once, but I was pretty sure I'd died and gone to heaven when I tried it, and I've been craving them every since... Ferrero Raffaello. (you know... the makers of Ferrero Rocher ball treats that you get at Christmas?) These are little coconut covered spheres... the coconut gives way to a mild, crisp wheat wafer shell and a milky flavored cream inside with a very smooth texture. In the very center is an almond. AHHHHH!!! I think my Aunt got them at RightAid... do you think they're open at 10:00 pm?

Place I would like to travel: I am torn between MANY places on this one, but right now it's a toss up between Venice and Greece. I think I could hit them both in the same trip, right? They're not TOO far apart? Anyway... that's the deal. I can't decide so I chooseboth!

Your favorite color: Definitely blue. Not just any blue... the blue of my Larimar necklace that Dustin bought me in Maui. It's very similar to this pic, but I think mine is prettier! :) (and just a little random fact: They have found Larimar in only 1 square km in the world.)

Your home town
: I guess they mean the place I grew up? That would be Salt Lake City, Utah. I always loved this statue that is across the street from the temple by the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It is so joyful. (that pic would be in Salt Lake, obviously)

Your favorite vacation spot: I haven't gone on a lot of "vacations" but it's a toss up right now between Maui and Lake Powell.

Your favorite food: I've gotta go with Sushi. Sorry Britt... I love the stuff. It was torture to find a picture of it because it made me want to have some RIGHT NOW, but I don't think many sushi places are open at 10:39 pm. And FYI, Maui had the BEST sushi EVER!!! (makes sense with the ocean right there and all...)

Your favorite animal: I'm pretty sure you're surprised that I have a new favorite animal. Yep... Squirrel. And it's not just any squirrel, but MY squirrel. I am excited for him to get big! (and a little nervous... but we'll take it as it comes!) He's worked his way into our family's hearts. I wub him.

DANG! That was a long post! I worked on it over the course of 24 hours. Took FOREV, but it was very fun. The hardest part for me was thinking of what my favorite treat was. Weird.

So... I tag Carmy, Rachel, Brecca (private), Teri and
Ginny (private).

50 Things

This is something I got on my email from two of my cousins. I wanted to do it, but I've gotten to where I hate to send emails. I am a blogger through and through. So... I'm making it into a TAG! So... here's 50 silly questions.

50 Things.
1. Do you like bleu cheese?
So much! I love to dip really yummy french fries in it and ketchup mixed.
2. Have you ever smoked?
I changed this one from a slightly different question. I have had one puff on a cigarette when I was 5 years old. My dad was doing an anti-smoking campaign.
3. Do you own a gun?
I don't, but my hubby has several.
4. Your favorite song right now?
Be Still My Soul sung by David Archuleta. I've listened to it about 10 times.
5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments?
Not really. Except for the dentist sometimes and the chiropractor during my week of neck death.
6. What do you think about hot dogs?
I think they are funny. It makes me feel like a kid when I eat them.
7. Favorite Christmas song?
Umm... all of them. All the sacred ones, that is.
8. What do you like to drink in the morning?
Orange Juice, if I have it. I don't usually. Water if I'm eating scrambled eggs and toast.
9. Can you do push ups?
Heck ya! Not very many real push-ups, but girly ones I can do quite a few.
10. How much money is in your bank account?
Millions! (we're speaking what we want, ya?)
11. What's your favorite piece of jewelry?
My grandma's necklace. It was the only thing I REALLY wanted from her after she passed away. Also a Larimar necklace that Dustin bought me in Maui.
12. Favorite hobby?
Blogging and reading.

13 and 14??? they were missing.

15. One trait you hate about yourself?
That I hate things about myself. Self-loathing does nobody any good.
16. Middle Name?
Leigh
17. Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment?
Go to bed.
I want to sing like David Archuleta... with so much feeling and control.
I want to sing something
somewhere with someone.
18. Name 3 things you bought yesterday?
I didn't leave my house yesterday, so nothing.
19. Name 3 drinks you regularly drink?
water, water and water.
20. Current worry right now?
To sell or not to sell. That is the question.
21. Current hate right now?
Come on. Hate is such a strong word. OK. Fine. I hate that my friend dropped by and my house was a total WRECK. I was anxious and uncomfortable. The self-loathing came on strong that night.
22. Favorite place to be?
Singing somewhere.
23. How did you bring in the New Year?
With friends... Osai's and Gibson's playing games and laughing alot.
24. Where would you like to go?
To New York or Chicago or somewhere that has a showing of the musical Wicked.
25. Name three people who will complete this?
I guess that's where the tag comes in. But don't feel obligated. Check it out at the end.
26. Do you own slippers?
Three pair of them.
27. What kind of shirt are you wearing?
Old Navy polo style... navy blue with different colored stripes.
28. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets?
Hate it. I have terribly scratchy heels (will pick up a dryer sheet and I'll walk with it for a while without realizing.) and they catch on satin. EWW!!
29. Can you whistle?
Yes. Only regular whistling. Nothing crazy loud.
30. Favorite color?
Blue. I have a Larimar necklace in the specific color of blue.
31. Would you be a pirate?
Heck ya! Probly just for the weekend though! (wink to Sib!)
32. What songs do you sing in the shower?
Whatever song is on my mind. But I strangely don't do a ton of singing in the shower. It's my thinking place.
33. Favorite girl's name?
Ella, Brae, Bryn, Raine and others that I can't think of right now.
34. Favorite boy's name?
McKinley, Mac, Rohan, Eirik, Xavier, Roran and others I can't think of right now.

Nothing. I couldn't even find lint.
36. Last thing that made you laugh?
Something in The Host.
37. Best bed sheets as a child?
This is a very strange question indeed. I only remember one set of sheets, so I guess that would make them the best. White with blue flowers.
38. Worst injury you've ever had?
Torticollis on my neck a couple months ago.
39. Do you love where you live?
The city, yes. The house, not so much.

I try not to.
42. How many dogs do you have?

about 30 minutes.
45. What is your favorite TV show?
Don't watch T.V., but wish I could watch American Idol.
46. What is your favorite candy?
Kit Kat or Cadbury Mini Eggs that come out at Easter!
47. What is your favorite Sports Team?
Don't have one. I used to like to watch the Utah Jazz sometimes.
48. What song do you want played at your funeral?
I am really fond of Be Still My Soul, but whatever would help those in attendance feel good is fine.
49. What were you doing 12 AM last night?
Reading The Host
50. What was your first thought as you awoke this morning?
"That was a yucky dream."

So, I would like to tag anyone who wants something to blog about and might be having problems with blogstipation. And more specifically, Britta, Rachel, Kristin, Britney and Beth!

Saturday, April 19, 2008

Tag?

So, my kids got tagged and I did that, and Britta sorta tagged me... so I have been having issues with blogstipation so I thought I would comply.

So... it's the Ten things you may or may not know about me....

1- My shoulders are crooked, meaning they don't sit level with eachother. Dustin says it's cuz my hips are "off" and my back is "out" so one leg would seem to be longer than the other even though it's not. When I was a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding, my mom made our dresses and she had to adjust the dress for my shoulder that was "off".

2- I am currently donating plasma for a little extra cash and I, apparently, have the genetic makeup that "tastes" strange things when the blood returns to your body. Lacy said that some people, with the right genetics, "taste" a metallic taste on the return and she says that it's just the anti-coagulant they mix with the blood. I don't taste metallic, I taste the plastic tubes that the blood is running through. Right at the back of my mouth there is a taste like brand new My Little Pony's or plastic baby dolls. It is a VERY strange sensation.

3- I was hypnotized one time at a hypnotist show when I was in college. It was great! It amazingly mostly cured my stage fright. I took voice lessons as a teenager and had to do some recitals. It was some of the scariest moments of my life. I had incredible stage fright. Knees shaking, hands shaking, couldn't breathe (which is bad when you're supposed to be singing). Then I went to college had some more bad experiences with vocal juries. Then I went on a double date with Dustin, and Britta and Jeremy and I got on stage to be hypnotized. He had us be our favorite celebrities. I was Sarah McLachlan. He asked me if I wanted to sing something and I said, "Sure!". I got up with the mic and sang the whole song of "Angel" a'capella with almost no fear at all. (there was a tiny bit somewhere in the back of my head, but it was not in control) The first solo I did after that experience was a completely different animal. It actually felt GOOD! Ever since, I have had very little fear to sing in front of people. Some nerves come up, but no big deal. I believe in the power of hypnosis!

4- I often have dreams that I am leading music in church in just my underwear. This is fresh on my mind as I just had one again this morning. It is not a fun dream! Reminds me of a Toosdae post from Mags where I chose to tap dance with a red outfit in front of 1000 people! ;)

5- I LOVE digital cameras. They were the best invention for the girl who never took pictures because I hated to deal with the little rolls of film and pay to buy them and then pay AGAIN to develop them AND figure out what to do with the pictures after. I still have a shoe box full of pictures from earlier days. I am an anti-scrapbooker. I am not against the idea of it for other people, but I don't need anything else that makes me feel like I'm not living up to my ideal. I know myself, and I would never be "caught up" and I would use that as ammunition to beat myself up! So... I love that I can just burn it to a disk and have the pics saved on my comp. and let them come up as a screen saver and look at them more than I EVER would in a photo album or a scrapbook.

6- I wanted to play basketball in high school, but I was too scared to try out. I regret it now, but not the hold onto it and lament kind of regret. It is just a lesson. Never forget what Wayne Gretzky said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." I try to remember that now.

7- I miss my Grandma Carol EVERYDAY. She was sunshine. She represented the best of what people can be in so many aspects of her life. She was not perfect, and I know that, but I am grateful everyday that I was born her granddaughter. I am grateful everyday that she was a living example of grace and light. I miss you, Grandma.

8- I have INCREDIBLE friends and family. I am surrounded by people who inspire me. I love to interact with all of them... from my husband and children to those I associate with at church and TEAM and the old skool playgroup gang and my best friends from my youth and college pals and the newest friends I have just met or only know through blogging. Know that if your reading this, I love you and I am grateful for you in my life.

9- I love to sing. Most of you know that already, but I really do. It is a healing thing for me. It makes my heart light!

10- People have asked me my whole life if I am named after someone or if Clancy's a family name, because it's unusual. No... not so. My mom was pregnant with me and was watching a game show and there was a contestant named Clancy. She thought it was cute. So... that was the birth of my name. :) Funny story. I didn't like my name when I was a kid. It was unusual and that bothered me. I wanted to be name Jackie, Anna, Jenny or Tina. Something like that. I am glad now, as a adult, that I have the name I have. Carol Tuttle told me that it was perfect for my energy profile! (whatever that means!)

Anyway... that was kinda fun! Thanks, Britt. I think you are officially tagged... as well as Maria and Rachel, and Mags. I realize that I tagged some of your kids with this same tag... so if it is all too much, then don't worry about it. I just like reading little known things about all you great people. (and you are the only ones who post comments on my blog, so you are the lucky ones who get tagged)

Tag Kids!

So... I've been working on this blog for days and days. I wanted to get the kids to answer for themselves (with the exception of Rohan) and I succeed with Mac. Ella told me some things and then freaked out when I told her that people were going to read it! She's so cute...
Anyway here it is...

Mac, Ella, and Rohan got tagged by their friends Ellie and Dayton with "10 Things You May or May Not Know About Me".
Whew! Here goes....

Rohan:
1- There is, at this point in my young life, not one vegetable my mom found that I will eat - at least on a regular basis! I will have one pea occasionally or one bite of a crunchy carrot... and when I say occasionally this is MAYBE a once every two or three months kind of occasion! I mostly will not eat fruit either. Perhaps a nibble of a orange or strawberry occasionally, but that's it, baby!
2- I love to build Legos with my mom! (see previous post)
3- All my mom's kids have one comfort thing that hangs on from babyhood. Mine is hair. I love to play with hair, especially when I am tired. When I was a baby and my mom was trying (in vain, mostly) to get me to sleep in my crib, she would stick a lock of her hair (which was long at that point) through the bars of the crib and I would play with that until I went to sleep. Since my mom cut her hair very short, I tend to play with my own hair more. It makes mom kinda sad that I don't play with her hair much now.
4- I have perfectionist tendencies. I have to do things in just the right order or way. If I don't, I do them over again and again until they are just right. For example: We have a van. When I was a little younger, I had to get out of the van in just the right way. I would climb out of my chair by myself, (no, MOM, Roh Roh do it!!!!) and then I would hold out my hand til mom gave me her finger... not her whole hand and not just any finger.... her pointer finger. Then, with my other hand I would hold on to this bolt that sticks out of the sliding door of the van. THEN, I would STEP down out of the van. Not jump... not climb... but STEP! This was a LARGE step for my little body. It would be like an adult trying to "step" off of a four foot high wall. If the step didn't feel just right, I would climb back in and do it all over again. Most days my mom tries to humor me in my antics, but when she's in a hurry and she makes me do things her way (fast), I get very upset and throw a huge fit... to which mom says, "Sorry, dude! We're in a hurry today and you gotta do it Mom's way!"
5- When I was a mere 16 months old, I would watch THE WHOLE movie of The Karate Kid. Not just once, but over and over for months at a time.
6- I am SOOOO cute! My brother, sister, Mom and Dad always want to eat me up cuz I'm so cute!!!
7- I am a concerned little guy. If someone even says the word "Ouch", I immediately ask, "You okay?"
8- I don't yet know how to fall asleep without my mom or my dad laying by me. I used to... until the day I refused to sleep in a crib (15 months old). To get me to STAY in my bed, mom and dad started to lay by me and they haven't had the gumption to figure out how to stop!
9- I talk in my sleep and my mom thinks it's so cute.
10- I learned to walk at 8.75 months! And I learned to pedal and steer a bike just before my second birthday!

Ella:
1- I am a sunshine kinda girl! I am sweet and loving and sprinkle joy wherever I go!
2- I was an angelic baby. (and still am angelic...) I slept through the night at six weeks old. Not just any old six hour or eight hour kind of sleeping through the night... My mom would put me to bed at 7 o'clock p.m. and I wouldn't STIR until 7 o'clock a.m.!!! Mom thought she had died and gone to heaven... oh wait... she was still waking up with MAC a few times a night. (he didn't sleep through the night until he was three years old!)
3- I, like both my brothers, have my little "vice" that has hung on from babyhood. Mine is my DiDi. DiDi is a special blanket that I love to "suck". I actually put my thumb in my mouth (but strangely, do not suck my thumb... it just sits in my mouth) while I pull the satin edge of my now tattered blanket through my fingers and rub it on my cheek.
4- I love to play Legos with my mom.
5- I am a really good little singer. I have great pitch for a 5 year old!
6- I am extremely tall for my age. I always have been! When Mac went to first grade, the teacher was trying to find a seat for me cuz she thought I was in her class!! My mom told her that I was only 4 years old and the teacher couldn't believe it! I was taller than half the kids in the class!!
7- I walked at 8.5 months! I crawled for only two weeks before that (at 8 months!). I learned to ride a bike with no training wheels last summer!! YAY!!!!
8- I love to listen to most all music, and almost anytime music is on I run and put on a dress so I can dance properly!! I mostly love to listen to "girl songs" (anything sung by a girl) but I also really like Journey. My favorite Journey songs are "Any Way You Want It" and "Separate Ways"!
9- My favorite colors are pink and purple. I am definitely a girl... I love to play with Barbies and baby dolls and My Little Ponies. I also love to read Little House on the Prairie books with my mom.
10- My mom and dad picked my name before mom was even pregnant with me. When they found out they were having a baby, they told both of my grandmas that if I was a girl they were going to name me Ella. They found out then that Ella is the name of my Grandma Nene's Grandma, and my Grandpa Roger's Grandma too! So I'm named after a great-great grandma on both mom's and dad's sides!

Mac:
1- My real name is McKinley. My name has quite a heritage. It was my great-great grandfather's name, as well as my great-great uncle, and my uncle, and now me! My great-great Grandpa McKinley (he went by Mac too!) was born on the day President William McKinley was shot. My Grandpa Mac's parents were friends with the President and his wife, and so they named their baby William McKinley after their friend and President. Cool, huh!?
2- I REALLY, REALLY love video games. All kinds... little computer games, Wii games, PS2 games, Game Cube... I think they're all great and sometimes that's all I think about!
3- I love to build Legos with my mom. And I love cameras and playing soccer!
4- I learned to walk at 9.5 months and learned to ride a bike with no training wheels when I was still 3 years old! (a few months from 4)
5- When I was a baby, my big vice was my binkie! I LOVED my binkie, and I still tell my mom that I miss it even though I'm almost 8 years old!!!
6- I'm curious about everything! I like to get books at the library that tell me about different things! I don't like school, but I do like to learn new things.
7- I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE horses! I have loved horses since I was a tiny boy. They are my "thing". I have LOTS of toy horses, but not a real one. I want one though.
8- When I was about 2 years old, my mom and I were mad at each other. I got my face all scrunched up and as angry as a two year old can say something, I said, "You want piece of ME?!!!" I was only two!!! My mom couldn't believe that her little two year old would ask that, and it made her laugh to herself! This has pretty much been my motto for my life. I a feisty kind of guy... but equally sweet!
9- I am a very hard worker. I love to work with my dad or grandpa or grandma outside. I also love to help my Grandpa Brayt with projects. One time they had to replace the floor in their bathroom and I carried every piece of board to the garbage pile! Grandpa cut them into small enough pieces for me to carry by my two-year-old self!
10- I love the outdoors, I love to Rollerblade (and I'm really good at it... I can even take jumps!), I love my family, I love to go camping, I am a picky eater, and I have a huge heart that is so sweet and big!!!

And all three of them say, "My mom can hardly believe she is so lucky to have me!!!" ;)

Wow!!! I think I'm finally done with this!!! I think we will tag our friends Keller, Emma and Angela, as well as Hazel, Lilie, and Elsie! Oh... and Mac requested that we tag Gramma Nene!! :) (She's a kid at heart...heck, we gave her a giant teeter-totter for Christmas!)

Tag I'm It!!

This is my first tag ever! I officially love blogging! It's so fun, but it's so hard to explain why to people who don't blog. Weird phenomenon, huh? We should make up a Blang word for that! So, anyone who reads this... submit one, and the winner will get a prize!

Here's the tag...

What were you doing 10 years ago?
Ten years ago I was engaged to my darling Dustin. We had been engaged for 21 days ten years ago today! So, I was also working in Logan, UT at TKI (a screen printing shop) and I was going to Idaho every weekend to plan my wedding with my mom! And I was living at Oakridge missing my BVS because she was in the MTC!!!

What were you doing 1 year ago?
One year ago I was doing the same things I am doing now... being a mom and a wife, working on personal growth and leadership development, dipping pretzels, managing apartments, being happy!

Five snacks you enjoy
1- Cinnamon Toast
2- Gala Apples with Tillamook medium cheddar cheese
3- Figoco with mascarpone cheese and wafer crackers....mmmmmmmm mmmmmm good!
4- Kozy Shack Rice Pudding
5- Cheese Danish

5 Things I would do if I was a millionaire
(correction: WHEN I'm a millionaire)
1- Set up trusts for my kids (amen, Britta), and donate lots to incredible causes.
2- Help as many other people get to millionairehood as I can.
3- Put my kids in private school, or else hire someone to tutor them at home...someone whose ideals are very much in alignment with my own.
4- Buy a few hundred acres that are partially wooded with water running through it and build my house that I've had in mind for a long time and have horses and lots of outbuildings and lots of things to do to teach my kids how to work like past generations had to! (That would mean I would have to learn right along with them!)
5- Travel around the world gaining an education of every place we visit. (the whole family!)

5 Bad Habits
1- I have been, in the past, a nervous picker... pick at my arms or whatever flaw on my skin. (I am claiming these as past tense, because I refuse to use the I am statement on these things I am trying to change!)
2- I have been known, in the past, to be a procrastinator.
3- I have been known, in the past, to raise my voice to my children.
4- I have been known, in the past, to have a problem with punctuality.
5- I have been known, in the past, to spend too much time on the computer. (like right now!)

5 things you like doing?
1 - Singing and trying to learn the guitar. But singing esp. It makes my heart light!
2 - Reading (love fiction and non-fiction both... but mostly read non these days... except for Twilight series *amen, again, Britta!* and I swing for Team Edward!!!!!)
3 - Blogging!
4 - Hanging out with people I love
5 - Sewing, ultimate Frisbee, planting things in my flower beds, reading to my children... ok that's more than 5, I realize! Get over it! ;)

5 things you would never wear again
1- Doughnut rolled socks over stirrup pants!
2- Units (remember that store that had all different colors of the same knit things with "Bandos" that went on your waist that you could also wear as a mini skirt!)
3- Jelly shoes... They might come back in, but the thought of wearing them and getting sweaty feet... ugh!
4- Cotton G's (Do I hear an Amen to Britta's comment?)
5- Peg leg pants... please oh please let this be true that I will never wear these again! Probably we should never say never to anything, because everything comes back! YIKES!

5 Favorite Toys
1- My guitar
2- My cell phone
3- CD player in my car
4- Portable DVD player... so nice to have at times like long car trips and when I am stuck doing something like tiling the floor at one of our apartments and I have my kids with me!
5- Shop Vac that I gave Dusty for Christmas! I just love Shop Vacs and this one rolls on its wheels so nicely!

So, I tag Rachel, Melissa D., Tricia and Mags
Here's the tag!
